Below please find an assortment of travel tools to assist you in researching trips to ASLH Conferences.

General Travel

Trip Advisor
Trip Advisor brings together travel resources in a way that offers both depth and clarity.  The site offers links to travel articles in newspapers, online guidebooks such as Frommer's , Fodors , and Rand McNally , information on local attractions, maps, as well as linking to air and hotel deals.  Trip Advisor " Smart Deals " cross reference their popularity index with hot deals to provide bang for the buck.

Sidestep
Sidestep is a search engine that allows you to search several travel sites at once - Expedia , Travelocity , Jet Blue , & more - in order to find the best deals for flights, car rentals, and hotels.  It then links you into those sites to make the purchase.

Priceline
Priceline allows you to name your price for flights, lodging, cars (cruises, package vacations), but the catch is that you have to accept what they find.  They find marvelous deals...as well as not so convenient ones.

Student Travel
(a.k.a., really cheap)

Student Universe
Student Universe is run by Orbitz .  It offers links to student fares and less expensive travel resources - hostels, rail travel, etc. - that are not included on most travel sites.

Ivy Media
Ivy Media links to bus services that are far cheaper than air, rail, or even Greyhound , but locations are very limited.  Round trip between NY and DC, only $35 for a 4 - 4 1/2 hour trip.
