A suggestion: check out La Prensa http://www.laprensa.com.ni the classified section has a large 'rooms for rent' list. Other option is El Nuevo Diario http://www.elnuevodiario.com.ni. Try also http://www.ibw.com.ni (bottom of the page: classifieds) Checking those sites, it will be pretty easy to find a decent room for around US$200-300/month. I'll be in Managua from July 30th on...if you need any help my # in Managua is 814.2427

Scholars
planning to conduct long-term research in Nicaragua
this coming year (and who don’t need to be in Managua)
might want to consider the house I have been renting for the past year
in Len. The house is centrally located,
two blocks from the UNAN in one direction and two blocks from a
supermarket in the other. The house is
very large, has two large bedrooms that share a bathroom, one of which
I use as an office, and an additional smaller "bedroom" with its own
bathroom (intended to serve as quarters for a domestic worker). The house is unfurnished, although the owner
has been letting us use some furniture that was here when we moved in. We have been paying US$ 250, although this
might go up, and the owner would like at least a twelve-month
commitment. Available
August 1. Please reply to me at frbarbos@indiana.edu (the owner
has no e-mail), or call Adan Ramos
directly at 505-311-1035.
