D) FACILITIES

a) Facilities: A small room
that accommodates only 25 readers
c) Staff: Pleasant but not
knowledgeable about the contents of thematerial
2) Computer Access: Permission is required
to use a computer. There are no points available so that a battery
pack is necessary.
3) Wheelchair Access: A small number of steps makes
wheelchair access tricky but not impossible. The AGN is located in
an important public building so that the disabled do have access.
Lima is impressive for the attention paid to those in wheelchairs as ramps
have been built at every sidewalk crossing.
4) Toilet Facilities: Readers have access to the
staff toilets located in the area of the entrance. A key is available
from the staff in the room. The facilities lack toilet seats, toilet paper,
soap, and anything on which to dry one's hands.
E) OTHER
1) Public Transportation: The AGN is located
centrally on the Paseo de la Republica, so that it is within walking distance
of the center of the city. Public transport from the suburbs is frequent
and easy to obtain but can be slow. Taxis are inexpensive and more
rapid than buses or colectivos.
2) Lodgings: Two hotels including the Sheraton are
located on the same square. Less expensive accommodation can be found
in the suburbs such as San Isidro, Miraflores, and Barranco.
3) Restaurants: Numerous restaurants are located
nearby, serving a wide variety of types of food, from snacks to inexpensive
three-course meals.
