Bibliography in Contemporary Jewry Academic Chairman: Haim Avni Director: Mira Levine General Field: Contemporary Jewry Background and Objectives The Bibliography in Contemporary Jewry consists of 4,000 indexed and annotated descriptions of books, articles and journals dealing with various facets of 20th century Jewish life and experience, published from 1984 to 1987. The described material are available in the Jewish National Library at Givat Ram in Jerusalem. In order to provide maximal access to this unique body of material, the bibliography has been computerized at the Institute of Contemporary Jewry's Bibliographical Center. It is now available for research and publication purposes via the ALEPH computer network, thus comprising a significant and valuable reference tool in the field of Contemporary Jewish Studies. Current Status and Future Plans: - 4,000 indexed and annotated descriptions of articles, journals and books are available online at the Institute of Contemporary Jewry's Bibliographical Center through the ALEPH computer network. - When funding is resumed, the Bibliography Center will expand and update the present bibliography to include relevant material published before 1984 and after 1987. - Resumption and expansion of ongoing registration. - Publication of selected material from the bibliography.
