The theme for the program is "Millennialism: Motifs and Movements." The year-long faculty/graduate project will investigate on a comparative basis such topics as the origins of the millennial idea, prophecies and messianic manifestations in Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as well as American millennial visions and Millennialism in East Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa.
