As one of the editors for H-Ideas, I would like to take the opportunity, before our forum officially closes, to thank all of you who took the time to register, read, and participate in this experiment.
I especially want to thank George Cotkin, Elisabeth Lasch-Quinn and David Steigerwald for providing thoughtful essays; I can think of no better way to have begun this discussion and I am grateful that we will have their work to read long after this forum has ended.
For those who are H-Ideas listserv members, the editors and I would be happy to hear your evaluation of our first virtual forum.
