The Historical Society of Michigan and the Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries are pleased to announce that an agreement has been signed to transfer Michigan History magazine from the Department to the Society effective October 1.
June 27, 2009 - Annual Upper Peninsula Awardees Announced
Carol Taylor and the Keweenaw County Historical Society received the Historical Society of Michigan's top awards for the preservation of Upper Peninsula History at the Annual Upper Peninsula History Conference.
June 18, 2009 - Michigan Students Receive Top Honors at National History Day
Eleven Michigan students competing at National History Day outside of Washington, DC reached the top tier of competitors. Two students from Grand Rapids placed second in the nation. One student also won the prestigious Best Entry in Irish or Irish-American History.
April 27, 2009 - 2009 Michigan History Day State Finals Winners Announced
Over six hundred people were present as Michigan students received top honors at the Michigan History Day (National History Day in Michigan) State Finals on Saturday, April 25th in Allendale at Kirkhof Center at Grand Valley State University.
