The Holly Historical Society Mission Statement: The business of this corporation shall be to preserve, advance and disseminate knowledge of the Holly area.

Help Preserve History:
The Holly Historical Society is storing many years of bound copies of the Holly Herald Newspaper at the Hadley House Museum. The newspaper's first edition was September 5, 1901. The papers are in fragile condition and need to be microfilmed in order to save them. Newspapers are an invaluable source of local history. Local reactions to national events are reported. Economic data such as prices for goods are a part of the advertising. Obituaries, local events of the schools, churches and organizations, even the classified ads, give insight to what life was like at a certain period of time. They give us a greater apreciation for what past generations have accomplished.

The Holly Historical Society has selected ProQuest, which is a company that has been in business since 1938, and is a leading provider in the collection, organizing and publishing of information. It will cost 16.5 cents per printed page to have them microfilmed. This will provide 2 copies of film for public use. Currently, the high cost of digitizing is not an option. In order to accomplish the task of preserving the Holly Herald Newspaper, we need private donations. To preserve the complete collection it will cost approximately $15,000.
