1. Since there is thread developing on Joerg Haider in historical perspective, it would be helpful, to me at least, to know exactly what Haider said and did to stir up such reactions. What I've seen is only some vague reference to praise for the employment policies of Hitler.

2. It seems it is largely the European reaction that's strange and needs explanation, not so much the words or deeds of Haider. The history of European racism and facism before the Nazi era may be historical concern here. Now with the anti-Moor/Muslim reaction in Spain, the problems in France, Germany, the Balkan states, Russia over the last few years, should Austria receive such exclusive attention?
