Concering Haider: I have been rather impressed and informed by the level-headedness of the discussion that has evolved on H-Net concerning Haider's modest political victories as of late. They provide the perspective that I wish could be made available to a wider audience (and for that matter to President Clinton). What I do not I do not understand is the absolute lack of the use of "far-left", or something like "neo-Stalinist" to describe parties and movements from the Left? That lack is true in Europe and, for that matter, in America. Why is that? I would be curious to hear responses, as we evidently have more educated heads on H-Net (and more practical ones) then exist in the American media and government.
Thanks.
