Jonathan Kwan is a lecturer in Modern History at the University of Nottingham. He has studied at the University of Queensland, the University of London and completed his doctorate under R.J.W. Evans at the University of Oxford. His main area of research is Austro-German liberalism from the 1860s to 1890s. He is also interested in nineteenth century Central European historiography, Transylvanian Saxon history, Austria in the Metternich era and early twentieth century intellectual history.
