If the "historical truth" produced by "historians" (i.e, "history BOOKS") were so clear and unambiguous, unlike the tissue of lies produced by the cynical businessmen of the movie business directed at the morons and cretins (excluding the superior people on this list) who attend movies, then why oh why are historians forever arguing, producing more and more books that allegedly cover ground already covered? Because historical truth is no more the province of the professional historian than it is the movie maker. The anti-movie bias shown by some of the "historians" on this list is a disturbingly elitist attitude--e.g."when a good portion of the "public is increasingly influenced by pictures rather than words." Are we really going to postulate a "Golden Age" of educated discourse that has been forever degraded because of the dreaded movies? Are we really going to claim that words offer greater access to the truth than pictures? (As if films were "merely" pictures, and words more pure, more wholesome, more properly intellectual!)
