You probably have looked up listings under Hawaii, Chinese
Hawaiians (or Hawaiian Chinese), missionaries, Christianity in
Hawaii, etc.
I don't think there would be too much on your specific subject.
However, you might try the following secondary stuff: Arlene Lum,
ed. Sailing for the Sun: the Chinese in Hawaii, 1789-1989.
Univ of Hawaii Center for Chinese Studies, 1988; Tin -Yuke
Char,ed. The Sandalwood Mountain: Readings and Stories of Early
Chinese in hawaii. U Hawaii Press. 1975.
Also, although I am not familiar with them: Edward Beechert,
Working in Hawaii: A Labor History (also UH Press, 1985) Lawrence
Fuchs, Hawaii Pono: A social history, Harcourt Brace, 1961
--kinda old;
Takaki (Ron) wrote Pau Hana about plantation life (also UH Press,
1983).
His Strangers from a Different Shore has a chapter on Hawaii.
Any of these MAY have helpful biblios.
Good luck!
