I am a PhD candidate in history at Northwestern University. My
field is modern Britain, and I am working on a dissertation on
local responses to race and race policy in Britain in the
1950s--focusing on Nottingham, Cardiff, and Birmingham. I am
also at the moment assisting in a class on Irish history and
Anglo-Irish relations, and teaching a seminar on the Spanish
Civil War. I returned from research just before the term
started, and I am looking forward to school being done so I can
sort through my notes and start putting some thoughts together.
Forgive me if I'm a little brief right now! I was an H-Ethnic
subscriber before I left home to do research, and I'm looking
forward to rejoining the discussion.
