Also, could you tell me how long our presentations are to be? I may be bringing an additional member of our team for the electronic poster portion of the conference. We are still determining funding. Thanks, Beth Terhune * Name: Beth Terhune * Title and Affiliation:MA Candidate, History, University of Massachusetts Amherst * Title of paper/presentation: Integrating Software with Pedagogy: The Lizzie Borden Case Study * Brief Biography After five years with Oracle Corporation, Beth Terhune returned to graduate school to pursue a MA in history with a concentration in public history. Her proposal to revitalize a critical thinking and historical research methodologies series of courses was accepted as the first humanities project for the new Center for Computer-based Instructional Technology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Since that time, she has been working with a team from the university's education, computer science, and history departments to design and build a web-based virtual archive and a software toolset for the project. Terhune plans to teach a modified version of the undergraduate course in the fall of 1997 while completing her degree. Additional plans for the project include further partnerships with the Fall River Public Library and the Fall River Historical Society to roll out the software to K-12 educators, public school classrooms, and the community.
