Ayers University of Virginia http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/vshadow2/ Valley of the Shadow is the gateway into the story of the Civil War as seen by the people of two communities in the Great Valley of the United States: Franklin County, Pennsylvania and Augusta County, Virginia. The main feature of this project is an archive containing newspapers, maps and images, letters and diaries, as well as public, church, and military records. The project also provides examples of classroom activities involving these resources.
