H-Environment Policy Statement

Editors will reject potential postings that are not historical, have little to do with environmental history, appear to be advertisements for commercial products, or are exclusively political commentary. H-Environment generally will not post petitions relating to current environmental and educational issues. Most subscribers perceive such postings as a form of spam. Otherwise, the editors will use their best judgment to facilitate broad discussion of environmental history.

At times, when topics of discussion are exhausted, narrow into two person conversation, or the tone of discussion becomes uncivil, editors reserve the right to reject contributed postings or end a topic thread.

Editors occasionally post the Table of Contents of closely related journals, but cannot post links to individual articles. Authors or publishers of new books and videos in environmental history should contact our book reviewers to see about having the book or video reviewed on H-Environment.

Contributors making a habit of submitting inappropriate messages may be asked to unsubscribe from the list, or may be dropped from the list.
