Subject: Peruvian Anchovy Crisis Query

I am currently researching the Peruvian-Chilean fishery and would appreciate any assistance locating sources dealing with the Peruvian response -- or lack of response -- to the anchovy crash in the early 1970s and how this crash affected Peru and Chile. Unfortunately, I don't speak spanish so I'm limited to english sources. I am aware of the work of Michael Glantz and Dana Thompson; Linn Hammergren; and Cesar Caviedes. Can anyone suggest other works?

Please contact me directly at the address below. Thank you in advance.

Although the central focus of the book is on California, Arthur McEvoy writes of the Peruvian situation and how that affects US and international fisheries. See his THE FISHERMAN'S PROBLEM: ECOLOGY AND LAW IN THE CALIFORNIA FISHERIES, 1850-1980. It may help place Peru and Chile in a a global context. Best of luck.
