The mac lab at my husbands school had the same problem, it would lock up
randonly when using ethernet. It is not the cards or the software, it the
the LCIII motherboards. He had 82 LCIII (the 33 MHz ones I think) bought
in the summer of '94 and all of their boards had to be replaced. It took a
while of us narrowing it down and trying to convince them, but it was the
boards. I think it had something to do with a defect in the oscilator chip.

p.s. Thanks for the Works advice. My husband got Microsoft/Computer Plus
to take back all the Office and Word 6 licenses (Mac) and they are getting
ClarisWorks.
