Simply, books are so much more portable. They require little if any
additional input to power them. They are, at this point, much less
expensive.

In order for an electronic book to be used it needs to be (IMHO) easy to
read, ie. a nicely lit screen that did not reflect sunlight, inexpensive,
and as portable as a book is today.
