<Details on the Win95 19.95 education offer cut>
Pardon my skepticism, but from my experience and considering many of the
postings to this list, I doubt many schools have the resources to run Win95
effectively. And since there is no tech support with the 19.95
price...there is a good chance all you'll be buying is a bunch of
headaches. (Districts/ Institutions with full-time support excluded. )
Sorry, I am a big advocate of technology in the classroom but I can see
this offer leading to uninformed board members and hyped up parrents
pressuring schools for already scarce resources. Also, the machines that
seem to have the most problems with Win95 ( 486/66 and below with 8-12 MB)
are probably the most likely candidates for a "cheap" upgarde. This offer
is a headline grab. I seriously question if it is in the best interests of
education.
