We must be careful here. I'm trying to remember the original post that
began this thread, and my age is becoming an obvious impairment!
If talking about SoftWindows, then I agree. Version 2.0 is still quite slow
compared to an Intel-based machine. Version 3.0 is supposed to address the
speed issue, I think, but we will still be running under emulation.
If the original poster was referring to the dual-platform Macs (the ones
with the Intel mother/daughterboard that plugs into a slot, as opposed to
the dual-platform *emulation* software), then we have a different issue.
The new PCI Macs that are slated to be shipped soon will be accompanied by
Pentium mother/daughterboard choices that will run in the 100+ MHz range.
