We are pleased to announce the Make It Happen! World Wide Web site at
http://www.edc.org/FSC/MIH. This site offers valuable information and
useful resources to middle school teachers interested in:

thematic instruction
interdisciplinary curriculum
inquiry-based learning
technology integration
inclusion of students with learning disabilities

Make It Happen! is an approach developed at Education Development Center, Inc.
in Boston from a decade of federal funding. It guides interdisciplinary
teams of teachers to design, implement, and reflect upon interdisciplinary
I-Search Units. This web site provides detailed information about the Make It
Happen! process as well as the inquiry process within an I-Search Unit.
Examples of effective instructional strategies, samples of student work,
and teacher and student commentary (spoken, text, video) can be
found on this web site.

In addition, the web site offers a forum for ongoing conversation. It
will give both teachers who have already been implementing Make
It Happen! as well as those that are interested, a chance to ask
question, discuss issues, and share ideas. Judith Zorfass, lead
developer of Make It Happen! and national trainer, will provide
online assistance.

The web provides an overview of the Make It Happen! family of products
-- the Make It Happen! manual and the Search Organizer Software
-- as well as instructions for ordering.
