I have seen the same thing with speed (also color changes, un-recognized
floppy drives, etc). I'm hoping the system 7.5 update will help. The
deal with the LC 5200/75 is that, although it is a Power PC computer, it
is not in native mode. It actually emulates the old 68XXX processor.
Emulation is always slower than native.
Another problem I've had with this machine is the LC configuration. Some
3rd party hardware resellers don't realize that it doesn't have the
onboard ethernet that other Power Macs have. I didn't realize this
either when we bought 30 of them this year. This is a great machine in
concept, but it was shipped with too little RAM for a "multimedia"
computer, is slow in many applications, and has been overall "buggy".
