as the regional marketing force for several manufacturers of video,
media retrieval, presentation, and distance learning systems.
T.O.T.A.L. Marketing works with a wide variety of audio/visual/video
dealers and consultants throughout TX., OK., AR., LA., and NM.
JOB TITLE: Educational Market Development Specialist
SALARY: $35K plus incentives
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be willing to relocate to Fort Worth
area, in order to work out of Fort Worth office and be willing to
travel (not to exceed 8 overnights a month). Minimum of bachelor's
degree with 5 years experience in education as a teacher, media
specialist, or technology specialist. Must be organized, a self
starter, and possess exceptional communication skills in both writing
and public speaking. This position is not a sales job, but the end
result is to generate more sales through a well-established Audio/Video
dealer network. Since most large system purchases are made through a
bid process, many dealers are forced to wait until projects are fully
designed, and funded before they can become pro-active. T.O.T.A.L.
Marketing serves as a regional manager for manufacturers that require a
presence in the educational market in order to present, inform, and
guide specifications and designs so that bids and specifications are
written favorable to our systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Explain, instruct and inform school
districts, colleges and universities, the benefits, costs, and
justifications of new technologies; i.e., media retrieval, distance
learning, video conferencing and the Internet.
2. Assist educators in specification writing and grant submittals.
3. Conduct seminars and workshops on new technologies.
4. Maintain educational database and assist in preparing a technology
newsletter for educators.
5. Attend and assist manufacturers and dealers in exhibit booths and
seminars at regional and national trade shows.
6. Investigate and discover new building projects, additions,
technology grants, future funding and/or be aware of problems with
current systems.
7. Maintain an understanding of the technology systems represented by
T.O.T.A.L. Marketing and understand and communicate the differences
between those systems and systems marketed by competitive
manufacturers.
