Hello Domonic,

The short answer to your question is yes... any Hayes compatible modem can
be used on your Mac.

Basically, all of the external Hayes compatible modems are exactly the
same, they are just placed in different packaging for Macs and, if your
lucky, a Mac oriented manual is included. Add to that a
"harware-handshaking cable" and you have the Mac version of any modem you
need.

The March, 1996 issue of _MacUser_ magazine had a blurb about this very
issue in the monthly "Help Folder" column on page 130 titled "Modem
Muddle". If you can't find a hard copy of the magazine, you can read it

The long and short of their answer is use the modem of your choice if the
software is not a problem and you can get the cable which they claim is
relatively easy to do.
