First you need two VCRs (Panasonic LG 450 I believe is the model number)
that allows you to edit using digital tracking, audio dubbing, and that has
a "jog shuttle/edit wheel" for frame by frame accuracy; mainline VCRs that
do not have these features (those that you purchase for home use) would not
give you the accuracy that you will need. They go for $600 -
800...(extremely rough estimate...find a vendor that will help you out) For
computer graphics, Videonics from California makes a great character
generator for $1000. They also have a switcher that goes for the same
amount for special wipes and effects.
Too much? You may want to shoot the video and then "contract" the
post-production (editing, computer graphics) to your local high school
television production class that already has this type of equipment
available since this is the most inexpensive route to go.
Good luck...send me a private note if you need more information.
