IBM Video Camera Capture for Still photos, Clipart

I have a Compaq Pressario CDTV at home with a built in TV tuner and
Still video capture card. I have purchased an Intel, Video capture
card for school called, Intel Video Recorder Pro. Both put out
pretty good pictures, but they are grainy. So I finally purchased
the "Snappy" claiming to have the highest quality ect. ect. I was
thinking perhaps it would take picture of a quality high enough for
the school newspaper.

However I found that all of the cards quality is about the same. and the
Compaq TV card gave as good as results as any. The Snappy
comes with a good drawing program and a Morphing program, but
it processes slower than either of the other cards. It can take up to
15 minutes to take the picture and print it out on my Okidata 410e
laser type printer.

Am I doing something wrong? My computer at school is a 486sx with 4
megs of ram. I know I could make it run faster with $1,600 of new
computer. Has anyone gotten excellent results from the Snappy?
The 1150 X800 ~ image that is suppose to be better than any other
system, will not process from a video source with my camera
