** My reading of the upgrade licenses indicates that the original user may
NOT use the previous version and the upgraded version. The upgrade counts
as one unit of the original license agrement and not an addition to it.
Therefore, they don't really "own" the older version and hence, can't do
anything with it but store it or trash it.
If a company were to NOT upgrade, but to purchase new licenses, say it buys
MacroMind Director to replace Adobe Premiere, then it could contact Adobe
and inform them of the transfer of license and all supporting materials to
the school. We have done a similar arrangement with Word Perfect and a
local company. **
