Two issues:

1. Are your internal telephone circuits digital or analog. This is
function of the circuit card in the switch. Digital circuits do not use
modems, analog circuits do.

2. If you have analog lines the telco people can program a analog port
on your KSU Key System Unit) or PBX (Private Branch Exchange) to not
rotor. In effect they can provide a port that will always be at the same
number internally. I you have DID lines, (direct Inward Dial) you can
set up the line to always be accessable at the same number.

Last resort call your friendly local REBOC ( Regional Bell Operating
Company) and have a new line installed.
