Mac lab start-up primer?

Is there such a thing as a step-by-step guide to set up a Mac-based
lab for a non-high-tech type lab director (Or, "Everything you
want to know before starting up a Mac lab but feel shy to ask")?
We are in the process of setting up such a lab, and feel that a primer
laying out what to do when to do will be very helpful.

Any relevant information will be appreciated.
