If you register and download DropStuff with the extra translators, I
believe it will translate GZip as well (it's been a long time since I
downloaded a .gz file, though). The error message you received, assuming
that it was not caused by a version mismatch in the GZip decompression,
means that the circular redundancy check on the compressed file failed.
Translation: something got corrupted somewhere along the way. It could
have been during the download (more likely) or during the original upload
of the file. But, it's very possible that the compression was done with a
newer version of GZip than MacGZip is compatible with.
