Netscape dated?

We have had technical support people from two different service centers tell
us that the Netscape 2.0 is only workable for two months, then you would
have to download another copy.

Does anyone know if this is true?

If it true, what happens? Are your bookmarks and settings still there?

If this is not true, will downloading a newer version erase your bookmarks
and setttings or just update your file?
