I am looking for keypals and/or computer tie-ins to two current projects from
teachers in our school district:
3rd graders studying deserts. Would like to find keypal(s) in a desert
country where children could communicate with children living in the desert.
Also looking for leads to desert animals, habitat, culture, any other
information.
4th graders doing a Hudson River unit. They have a tank and are going to
simulate a river environment. Keypals with a class doing a river study or
with a similar tank would be appreciated. Also information about rivers in
general.
Animals. Links to animals, information about animals for a 5th grade class
doing reports on animals.
Both these projects are an outgrowth of the EdTech staff development survey,
by the way. I'm piloting a project to teach teachers the skills and tools
they need from the curriculum out rather than workshops on software packages
they cannot immediately translate into the classroom.
Any help, advice, pointers, etc. is most appreciated.
