Video taping a computer screen

I am trying to tape a video for my students to check out from the
library where they would learn how to send e-mail using our Interent
system. I have provided PowerPoint lectures for students as well as
handouts, but to reach some learning styles, I felt a tape would be a
good idea.

We have tried to film the screen and have succeeded without flickers,
but to do so we slowed the shutter speed and my finger looks like a
ghost hand as I try to point to specific areas on the screen.

We have tried to film a projected image of a screen and have succeeded
without flickers. However, the clarity of the screen is lacking. It is
fuzzy. We used a laser to point out the specific areas and there isn't
contrast between the screen and the laser.

Any advice?
