Since you will be dumping video to a PC, consider a Hi-8 camera. The
quality is much better than VHS.

If you use video out from a Hi-8 to a good VHS recorder, the copy (which
you may have edited) may be better than an original taken with a VHS
Camcorder. (JMHO)
