Web Weaver or other browser for Win 95

I tried to download Netscape (yes, 32 bit vesion 2.0) on my Pentium PC and
the installation process left me with Netscape functioning perfectly, but
Notepad replaced by the Netscape installation acceptance box. That is, no
matter what readme file I selected, I got that stupid box asking if I wanted
to install Netscape.

Amazing, but real. After an hour on the phone at long distance rates to
Microsoft, I was left with no better solution than "reinstall Windows 95."
I was out $ for the call and time for the process. If anyone can think of
what else I might have tried - I did replace the user.dat and system.dat(?)
files to no avail, please advise.
Would this ever have happened in Win.3.11?

So - I have given up on Netscape. I did not reinstall it and I didn't want
to pay for another 2 hours to download it.

What is a good Web Browser for Win 95? Is Web Weaver a shareware browser?
I am taking a class in which I need to create some lesson plans
on the Web, and I have no way to test my work at home.

Advice? Help?
