As far as I know, that has continued to be the case for both these
versions of Eudora. Starting with version v1.5.4, the serial option
is also available for Eudora Lite for Windows. So this makes it
possible to check your mail without having a full SLIP or PPP
connection.

1.5.4 is still in its betas though; the most recent version is
v1.5.4b11. However, I've been using this version for some weeks now;
no problems whatsoever. You should be able to find it at Qualcomm's
ftp site.
