I recommend F-PROT; it comes with a very efficient virus interceptor
(VIRUSTOP.EXE, a TSR loaded via the config.sys file)
and an even more efficient eliminator. Ir runs in DOS, though F-PROT
Professional is available (but more expensive) as a commercial
version for Windows.

The following is abstracted from the Updates file in F-PROT 2.21:

"If you have FTP access, you can always get the most up-to date version
of F-PROT by anonymous FTP from a number of sites. Our primary method
of distribution is through SimTel, and all SimTel "mirror" sites
should always carry an up-to-date version of F-PROT.

SimTel's primary mirror site is ftp.Coast.NET (205.137.48.28) located
in Detroit, Michigan, and there the program may be found in the
directory /SimTel/msdos/virus."
