There is no winsock for the Mac. All you need is MacTCP and a SLIP or PPP
protocol to connect to your service provider. I use InterSLIP, but there
are several others for SLIP and several more for PPP. Whether you use SLIP
or PPP will depend on your service provider. Some offer only one or the
other, and some offer both. I have heard that PPP is technically better,
but I have no data of my own on that topic.
