What are you using the call up the programs? Does it execute SimAnt, etc.'s
.EXE file? DOS programs may be run directly only if they are .exe, .com or
.bat files. You may have to create a DOS .bat file that executes the
programs and call up the .bat files. The .BAT file might be:
cd\simcity
simcity
cd ..
win
Where the simcity called after the cd is the directory where simcity and
where the second reference to simcity calls up the .com or .exe program which
starts simcity.

By the way, the characters sound like ASCII characters.
