So what do you mean by distance education? I'm teaching a class that is 75%
online using Softarc's FirstClass software. We're also collaborating with a
similar class at Arizona State University. Yet this is a standard
Curriculum and Instruction course in our catalog. Does it count as distance
education?
Many courses are using telecommunications in a similar manner. Some keep in
touch throughout the week, others only meet once a month with
telecommuncations taking care of the rest of the "class" time. Maybe D.E.
is a catagory that's not so well defined anymore. And I'm worried that any
data you get may be terribly confounded.
