I am disturbed by the comment by Sloan which states that 90% of the
understanding of a message is dependent on body language. I think we are
missing some of the assumptions upon which that apparently
weird conclusion is drawn. What are those assumptions about the
circumstances?

Without a more careful attention to proper academic communication maybe
that 90% figure would apply! For my dog, I believe it. For differential
equations the figure is 0%
