Actually, if B&W is the choice, you'd still be better off with a flatbed,
such as the HP IIP and on (I know, the older ones are discontinued, but
there are still some in the channel at sweet prices). A scanner like the
Paperport only takes sheets that can be fed through; the flatbed can
accommodate material being scanned from books, etc.
