Ken:

I am not an expert on this by any means, but I have also tried all of
those things on my 5200, to no avail. Apple was no help either. The
information that I have gathered leads me to believe that a type 11 error
is a generic error code that could really mean anything. If someone has
other information I would be glad to hear it as well.

In my experience I have discovered that type 11 errors are caused by
software incompatabilities. For example, every time I try to load
Microsoft works (3.0 or 4.0) on my machine, I get type 11 errors on
any and all programs that I use. So, I trashed MS Works and
my machine is happier. Now, when I start getting errors I make
note of what I have recently changed and fiddle with that
particular program. This seems to keep my problems in control.
I hope it will help. Good luck and let me know if you find out
something more substantial.
