There is lots of research on the "effect" of techology on student
learning and performance. IMHO, I don't believe the way to "sell"
educational technology is based on promises in improved performance
or test scores. Technology, while expensive, is arguably a tool that
all students should know how to use intelligently if they are going
to compete in any future economic growth that occurs. High school
graduates who are illiterate with relation to technology stand little
(if any) chance of getting a well paying job or succeeding in college
(or life for that matter).
