Mac Word 6

A friend of mine is having some difficulty with this program.

This is her description of the problem. Can anyone help

Mac Microsoft Word 6.0 program - does not insert the page # either on the
page or in the header or footer all that appears is {page} when it is
printed - when you view it you can see the page #. Tried re-installing the
program but still doesn't work.
