Backup Data on Mac File Servers

I'm looking for opinions regarding the best choice for backing up data on
Macintosh file servers. I am currently using 150MB TEAC tape technology,
but even with compression the contents of new 1+GB drives won't fit on a
tape.

I am thinking of a DAT drive that can store up to 8GB with compression. (Do
you use different tapes in the same drive for either 4GB or 8GB
respectively?)

Are there other suggestions? For smaller backup requirements I know Zip
drives and other removable media would be options, but I want to back up
more than one server and some will have hard drives larger than 1GB. I am
not looking for a hard drive mirror with RAID.

TIA!

Larry
