You might want to stay with a newer Soundblaster CDRom
combination, for ease of installation, rather than unrelated products.

The hard drive should be fine, although with 8 megs you will notice
a great deal of drive activity from virtual memory use, (swapping
back and forth from RAM to disk). An additional 8 megs will be a
worthwhile investment.

Rules of thumb:
Win 3.1x will load in 2 megs, run with 4, and run well with 8
Win 95 will load in 4 megs, run with 8 and run well with 16
Win NT will load in 8 megs, run with 16 and run well with 32
