The CGIM Department offers both M.F.A. and B.F.A. degrees with
specializations in 3D animation, interactive media, electronic pre-press,
and experimental/fine arts. Currently this Department has 160
undergraduate majors, 100 graduate majors, 2 full-time faculty (with a
third hired for the Fall), 26 part-time faculty, one administrative
assistant to the Chair and two full-time lab managers. Classes are held
primarily in a dedicated lab which contains Mac, Quadra, PC and SGI
machines, a video editing suite, MIDI system, and various input and
output devices.
Candidates' qualifications should include college-level teaching and
administrative experience, professional activity in the field of
computer graphics and knowledge and skills in several of the
following areas: 3D modeling and animation, interactive media, 2D
imaging and electronic pre-press, experimental/fine arts and
historical & contemporary overview of computer graphics.
We are looking for a leader who will bring an already well-
established program into its next phase. Duties include course
scheduling, faculty recruitment, teaching load of one to three courses
per semester, student advisement, graduate admissions, curriculum
development, and other academic duties.
Appointment to begin on or before Fall 1996. Rank and salary
